Summer Solstice Yoga at the Beach A celebration of light
Celebrate the power of Light and allow Surya Namaskar to ignite your personal power, self-esteem, warrior energy and the power of transformation during the summer solstice with yoga at the beach.
The Summer Solstice (21st June) is the longest day and shortest night of the earth’s solar year. In the yogic tradition, it is considered the culmination point or the time to gather the fruit of the seeds sown during the new beginnings symbolised by the long dark night of the Winter Solstice (21st December).
Traditionally, yogis honour the power of Light by saluting the sun 108 times. The meditation in motion that is Surya Namaskar naturally synchronises the body with the breath without involving the mind and enhances the solar plexus chakra responsible for our sense of self and personal power.
The Lotus Room community gathers for summer solstice yoga during sunset at the beach to practise a symbolic 18 rounds of sun salutations. All Lotus Room students and members of the general public are invited to join this summer solstice yoga at the beach. The meeting point is at Ghajn Tuffieha (Riviera) bay at 7.00pm on 21st June.
